Providing out-of-hospital care in the austere environment of a tactical law enforcement mission requires special judgment and skills not taught in standard EMT curricula. The Tactical Medic course is designed to fill the gap in training which has become more apparent as the violence associated with drug activity and terrorism continues to increase.
